What you’ll do

• Work on-site at the Stellantis R&D center in Auburn Hills as the resident engineer for a leading Tier 1 automotive electronics supplier, representing their engineering team with the customer every day.
• Own the local customer interface across the full program life, from RFQ response through development, validation, and post-SOP support.
• Interface with Stellantis on technical reporting, discussions, and negotiations, and escalate to the supplier's management when needed.
• Capture customer-reported issues, document and track them in the relevant issue tracking systems, and drive them to closure.
• Work with every engineering discipline (software, electrical, mechanical, systems, validation) to resolve customer issues, on-site at Stellantis and at the supplier's Detroit-area engineering office.
• Take part in program reviews, gate committees, alert meetings, and internal RFx, program, and quality meetings.
• Support debug and validation sessions on customer benches, including work alongside other Tier 1 suppliers whose systems integrate with the supplier's products.
• Navigate a large, frequently reorganized OEM to find the right people, connect the right dots, and keep programs moving.
• Act as the technical face of the supplier's product portfolio: present current products (display ECUs, rear-view camera systems, infotainment), listen for the customer's future needs, and connect those needs back to engineering. Pricing and contract topics rest with the sales team.

What you need to be successful

• 3+ years as a resident engineer within Stellantis R&D at CTC Auburn Hills, with current, active knowledge of the organization.
• Strong command of Stellantis milestones, gates, processes, and internal systems.
• 2+ years working on automotive electronic products such as displays, IVI, ECU, or BCM for global OEMs.
• Automotive validation experience (2+ years preferred), including validation expectations across electrical, mechanical, software, and environmental disciplines.
• Experience with issue tracking tools (JIRA, Redmine, IBM RTC, or similar).
• Comfortable in both worlds: technical enough to pull logs, take measurements, and understand how the product works; confident enough to hold customer discussions and surface new opportunities.
• Strong customer support and communication skills, and the ability to work with global teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Advanced written and spoken English.
• Based in the Detroit metropolitan area, on-site 5 days per week at Stellantis Auburn Hills, with occasional days at the supplier's engineering office. No travel outside the Detroit area.
• Authorized to work in the United States. We are unable to sponsor visas for this role.

Nice to have

• Experience with digital cockpit or display ECU programs.
• Familiarity with vehicle networks (CAN, Ethernet) and diagnostics.
• Knowledge of FMVSS 111 rear-visibility requirements.
• Exposure to Stellantis programs across multiple regions (North America, Europe, South America).
• Experience growing from a hands-on engineering role into a customer-facing or business development role.
