What you’ll do

• We are seeking a Web Analytics Engineer to design, implement, and maintain analytics tracking across our Metro digital platforms. This role bridges data engineering, marketing analytics, and front-end development, ensuring accurate, scalable, and actionable web data collection.
• The ideal candidate will have strong experience with tag management systems - GTM and analytics platform - GA4, enabling stakeholders to make data-driven decisions based on reliable behavioral insights.
• Design and implement tracking concepts for websites and web applications.
• Deploy and manage tags using tag management systems (e.g., Google Tag Manager).
• Configure analytics tools such as Google Analytics 4.
• Implement event tracking, custom parameters (dimensions/metrics).
• Provide technical documentation for data layer events.
• Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of analytics data.
• Conduct regular audits and debugging of analytics implementations.
• Document tracking plans, schemas, and governance standards.
• Partner with product managers, marketing teams, and analysts to define tracking requirements.
• Support experimentation frameworks (A/B testing, personalization).
• Assist in attribution modeling and campaign performance tracking.
• Provide GA4 custom explorations and dashboard reporting through Looker Studio.
• Support advanced analysis such as funnel analysis, user journeys, and conversion optimization.

What you need to be successful

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, Marketing Technology, or related field.
• 4+ years of experience implementing web analytics or marketing technology solutions.
• Hands-on experience with analytics platforms such as Google Analytics 4.
• Strong experience with tag management tools such as Google Tag Manager.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS selectors and browser debugging tools.
• Familiarity with SQL and working with BQ data.
• Experience with debugging tools (network inspectors, tag assistants, Chrome extensions).

Nice to have

• Knowledge of privacy regulations and consent frameworks.
• Experience with experimentation tools (A/B testing platforms).
• Understanding of marketing attribution models and digital marketing metrics.
