What you’ll do
- Our mission is to modernize the Mail platform with a fresh, contemporary look and feel, designed to attract and engage a younger audience.
- Develop new Android features using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose
- Maintain and extend existing Java / Android Views / RxJava functionality
- Investigate and resolve bugs across a large and highly interconnected codebase
- Assess the wider impact of changes before implementation and release
- Work across multiple GitLab repositories and coordinate related merge requests
- Navigate and gradually improve legacy areas where historical technical decisions may not be fully documented
- Collaborate closely with developers, QA engineers, product stakeholders, and managers
- Participate in sprint planning, refinement, and other Agile ceremonies
- Test functionality that may have regional or account-specific restrictions, with support from the team for the required test setup
- Contribute to improving maintainability and reducing technical debt where technically and commercially feasible
What you need to be successful
- 7+ years in building client applications consuming RESTful APIs
- Programming languages: Kotlin and Java
- Android MVVM Design Pattern, Coroutines, RxJava, Dagger2, Jetpack Compose, knowledge of Material Design 2 and 3
- Testing: Unit tests (JUnit, Robolectric, Mockito), Maestro (nice to have)
- Database: SQLite (+ Room)
- Version control system: Git
