What you’ll do

  • Design, develop, and integrate Android platform services, HAL, and HIDL modules.
  • Work on Android OS for automotive infotainment systems, with focus on Android 10 or higher.
  • Contribute to the Android Framework API & CAR Framework development and usage.
  • Build, configure, and customize Android AOSP platforms, devices, and boards.
  • Debug and optimize system startup, initialization sequences, and platform KPIs (boot-up time, performance).
  • Develop and enhance Android applications and services using Java & C++.
  • Ensure compliance with CTS, VTS and other compatibility requirements.
  • Implement and validate Android security policies.
  • Write and execute integration tests using Tradefed and other Android test frameworks (JUnit, Mockito, Google Test).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams following agile methodologies to deliver high-quality software.
  • Provide root cause analysis and fixes for issues across Android framework and service layers.
  • Maintain clear documentation and use standard tools (GIT, Gerrit, JIRA, Polarion, Confluence, etc.).

What you need to be successful

  • Android platform development experience (Services, HAL, HIDL in Android)
  • Experience in Automotive Android OS based Infotainment domain
  • Exposure to Android 10 or higher
  • Expertise in Android Framework API & CAR Framework usage.
  • Expertise on Android AOSP build system
  • Expertise in Object Oriented Programming concepts.
  • Expertise in Java, C++ development.
  • Expertise in HIDL and HAL services implementation.
  • Experience in Android Studio IDE development and debugging.
  • Experience in Android App/Services development in Java, and App development concepts
  • Experience in Android Security policies
  • Experience in Android Product/Device/Board Configuration and Setup
  • Good understanding and debugging skills of Android startup and initialization sequences
  • Good understanding of performance optimizations (Bootup time, other platform KPIs) in Android
  • Skills for analyzing and fixing any issues in Android Framework or service layer.
  • Experience in Android Tradefed Framework usage for writing Integration tests
  • Knowledge and experience in CTS, VTS requirements and compatibility issue analysis
  • Knowledge of Android Test Frameworks
  • Tools – GIT, Geritt, JIRA, Polarion, Confluence, Android Studio, VSCode, Enterprise Architect (UML), VMWare, Coverity.
  • Knowledge of Google Test Framework and testing frameworks used in Android like Junit, Mockito.
  • Excellent problem solving and debugging skills, complete ownership of the building blocks.
  • Good Team player and should follow agile development methodologies as part of SW development life cycle.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Highly self-motivated and energetic
