What you’ll do

• You won’t be working on isolated models or one-off analyses.
• You’ll be part of a core platform team that connects thousands of point-of-sale (POS) systems with a large-scale digital ecosystem. Every transaction, promotion, and order flowing through these systems becomes an opportunity to generate insights and drive smarter decisions
• Take ownership of key data and analytics capabilities within the Trader EPOS Connect platform, from understanding existing data pipelines and analytical solutions to identifying opportunities for improvement and optimization.
• Design, develop, and evolve scalable data driven solutions that support trader insights, promotion effectiveness, and decision support use cases across multiple countries and POS partners.
• Enable advanced analytics and AI use cases by transforming complex transactional and operational data into reliable, business ready datasets tailored to different trader segments and business scenarios.
• Collaborate closely with backend, platform, and product engineering teams to integrate data and analytics solutions into production environments, ensuring reliability, scalability, and smooth operationalization.
• Work with existing data and integration infrastructure to ensure seamless ingestion, processing, and consumption of POS data across the Trader Digital ecosystem.
• Act as a data science and analytics subject matter expert within the squad, providing guidance, setting best practices, and supporting knowledge sharing across a cross functional team.

What you need to be successful

• Minimum of 6 years of experience as a Senior Data Scientist or in a similar role, with a proven track record of delivering impactful, business driven data science and analytics solutions in production environments.
• Strong expertise in machine learning, advanced analytics, and data modelling, with experience applying these to real world business problems such as insights generation, decision support, or optimisation use cases.
• Hands on experience across the end to end data science lifecycle, from data exploration and feature engineering to model development, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
• Proficiency in Python and common data science and machine learning libraries (e.g. scikit‑learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Polars or equivalent), with experience using Vertex AI being highly preferable.
• Solid experience working with SQL and large scale analytical data platforms (e.g. BigQuery or similar), including complex datasets and high data volumes.
• Experience working in cloud environments, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP), for data processing and analytics solutions.
• Familiarity with MLOps concepts and practices, including collaboration with engineering teams on deployment, monitoring, and operationalization of data products; experience with containerization and orchestration platforms is a plus.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex analytical concepts into clear business insights for both technical and non technical audiences.
• A proactive, independent mindset, with the ability to take ownership, drive initiatives forward autonomously, and work effectively in a cross functional, platform oriented team.
• Experience in retail, wholesale, or data driven B2B environments is a plus.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken
