What you’ll do
- Partner with the Tech Lead to provide oversight on system architecture and high-level design decisions;
- Lead the development of large, complex functionalities with a primary focus on Python (back-end) and React (front-end);
- Collaborate with DevOps to refine CI/CD pipelines and understand infrastructure requirements (K8s, Networking);
- Implement best practices for data streaming, load balancing, and backend scaling to handle large environmental datasets;
- Champion rigorous testing and pull-request processes to prevent deployment conflicts and ensure project stability.
What you need to be successful
- Expert-level Python (FastAPI/Flask/Django);
- Strong proficiency in React and Next.js;
- Deep understanding of PostgreSQL.
- You must be comfortable with relations, indices, constraints, and transactions (beyond basic ORM usage);
- Experience with GIS skills for visualizing spatial climate data;
- Experience with GCP (Google Cloud Platform);
- Proficiency in Event-Driven Architecture using Queues and Pub/Sub;
- Experience with Large Data Streaming and handling high-volume datasets;
- Kubernetes (K8s) fundamentals;
- CI/CD workflows;
- Foundational knowledge of network routing, policies, and load balancing;
- Implementation of throttling, authentication, and authorization best practices.
